Gypsy Gold Horse Farm

On Thursday, May 21st we are planning a short car trip to Gypsy Gold Horse Farm. Gypsy Gold is home to America’s first Gypsy Vanner Horses.  This is the most popular farm tour in Ocala and the 4th  most popular tour in Central FL (according to trip adviser and others.)  It is located at 12501 8th Ave, Ocala.  The tour will be 2 hours, with an introduction to the farm’s history then a tour to see these gorgeous horses up close.  Thursday is an “off day” so we will be the only group there that day.  The cost per person is $40. Please put your $40 in an envelope with your name on it and give to me when we  gather.  Carol will take care of the payment to Gypsy Farm.   Did Carol mention there are also miniature donkeys, mules and parrots?

I’ve been there several times – fantastic place to take visitors.  You can bring carrots or apples to feed the horses. There can be a lot of walking, however a barn with horses (and maybe a colt or two) is right near the main building.  There is a bathroom, gift shop and cold drinks available.  So, you can walk as much or little as you feel comfortable.

We will gather by 9am at Mulberry Plaza on Rt 42 leaving about 9:15.  Our tour begins at 10am.  It takes 30 minutes to get there so this will give us plenty of time for everyone to gather and gives a little flex time to allow for traffic.  (You know, those unretired people going to work at that time.)
