SUMMARY:AIRBOAT RIDE AND LUNCH
DESCRIPTION:Below is more information re the April Event.  We do need a date to RSVP by (April 17) to give us the time to make further arrangements if necessary for the airboats.  Right now we have space reserved for 24 members. If more want to ride we will have to make arrangements in advance for more tours.\n\nAPRIL EVENT!!!  On Wed\, April 22\n\nAIRBOAT RIDE AND LUNCH \nRSVP by April 17!!! \n  \nMember Don Lapierre has made arrangements with All-American Air Boat Tours in Inverness.  George\, the owner\, has two boats\, each seating six people.  This will be a one hour lunch-time tour with 12 members going out onto the water while the other members have lunch at The Cove Pub & Grub.  This is at the same location from where the boats are launched.  When the boats return\, the groups will switch places. \n\nThe first 24 members to reserve a spot on the airboats  \nwill be assured a seat.  \nAfter that number we will have a waiting list while we try to arrange additional tours to include those on the list.  \n\nWe need to try to have each boat filled with 6 people to keep the cost (because of high fuel price) to $50.00 per person.  George is able to get to places most people can’t imagine and is extremely different than most other rides. \nLunch is not included in the airboat cost. \n\n[Note:   Like the LaPierre’s\, Don and Carol have been on this airboat ride and take our company on it.  It is the best.  And the Pub & Grub has delicious food.  ] \n  \nWe will meet at Brownwood at 10AM (behind the medical center) and caravan with our Thunderbirds for a 30-minute ride on Rt 44 to Inverness. For your GPS\, the address is:  1242 So. I have a question and maybe you have an answer.  My neighborhood has a monthly car show (with about 20-cars) and wonder if you and some of your Thunderbird car enthusiasts would like to feature and attend?  It’s on Saturday May 16th from 9:00 till 11:30. SUMMARY:Gypsy Gold Horse Farm
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, May 21st we are planning a short car trip to Gypsy Gold Horse Farm. Gypsy Gold is home to America’s first Gypsy Vanner Horses.  This is the most popular farm tour in Ocala and the 4th  most popular tour in Central FL (according to trip adviser and others.)  It is located at 12501 8th Ave\, Ocala.  The tour will be 2 hours\, with an introduction to the farm’s history then a tour to see these gorgeous horses up close.  Thursday is an “off day” so we will be the only group there that day.  The cost per person is $40. Please put your $40 in an envelope with your name on it and give to me when we  gather.  Carol will take care of the payment to Gypsy Farm.   Did Carol mention there are also miniature donkeys\, mules and parrots?\n\nI’ve been there several times – fantastic place to take visitors.  You can bring carrots or apples to feed the horses. There can be a lot of walking\, however a barn with horses (and maybe a colt or two) is right near the main building.  There is a bathroom\, gift shop and cold drinks available.  So\, you can walk as much or little as you feel comfortable.\n\nWe will gather by 9am at Mulberry Plaza on Rt 42 leaving about 9:15.  Our tour begins at 10am.  It takes 30 minutes to get there so this will give us plenty of time for everyone to gather and gives a little flex time to allow for traffic.  (You know\, those unretired people going to work at that time.)\n\nYou can look online for “Gypsy Gold Horse Farm” to see what this magnificent farm is about. I wanted to share some details about our upcoming Car Show on June 20th. \nWe are planning a fun 1950s/1960s-themed event featuring a food truck\, live entertainment\, and themed attire for both staff and residents. Prior to the event\, we will be showing American Graffiti in our theater. \nGuests and participants will enjoy complimentary food and drinks\, including hot dogs\, chips\, sweets\, and beverages.
